Published research demonstrates statistically significant improvements in student behavioral attention when Engaged Learners is integrated into small-group reading instruction. Our studies show students in the intervention condition are about 50% more attentive to the reading instruction.Â

Engaged Learners is structured around a brief introductory lesson to launch the program with students, followed by daily lessons that embed four evidence-based instructional practices into every reading session. A systematic fading process then gradually builds student independence over time, so the program works toward its own exit.

Implementation requires minimal training. Materials, lesson plans, and a reinforcement system are all provided. Teachers are the experts on their students; the framework is designed to support their judgment, not replace it.
